What is Natural “Never-Ever” Farming?

Practices that ensure animals are raised without the use of antibiotics, added hormones, or any synthetic growth promotants at any point in their life. This approach prioritizes natural and humane animal husbandry, focusing on ethical methods that promote animal welfare.

What is Sustainable Farming?

Sustainable ranchers look to preserve their lands’ viability for generations to come. They work with—and not against—nature to manage their land and care for their animals. The sustainable practices we look for include building healthy soil, preventing erosion, prudent water conservation prioritizing animal welfare and minimizing air and water pollution.

What is Regenerative Farming?

Going a step above never-ever and sustainable farming, Regenerative Agriculture involves a system of farming practices that restore grasslands, increase biodiversity and enrich the soil, which in turn helps to fight climate change by capturing and sequestering carbon in the dirt and aboveground biomass. Measurable, empirical, positive environmental impact.

What is Humanely Raised?

Humane practices ensure animals are treated with care and respect throughout their lives. This includes providing proper shelter, sufficient space, access to fresh water, and humane handling during transport and slaughter.

What is Free Range?

Free-range animals have the freedom to roam outdoors, allowing them to express natural behaviors improving animal welfare conditions.

What is Hormone Free?

Hormone-free means animals are raised without the use of synthetic hormones, allowing a more natural growth process.

What is Antibiotic Free?

Antibiotic-free means no antibiotics are administered to animals at any stage of their life. If an animal requires antibiotics, they are removed from the program, ensuring the meat remains antibiotic-free.

What is Vegetarian Fed?

Vegetarian-fed animals are provided a strictly vegetarian diet with no animal by-products.

What is 100% Grass Fed & Finished?

Grass-fed and finished means animals are fed grass throughout their entire lives, never consuming grain.

What is Pasture Raised?

Pasture-raised animals are raised outdoors, grazing freely in open pastures. This allows them to enjoy natural feeding and movement, improving their well-being.

What is Natural?

Natural meat products are minimally processed without the use of artificial ingredients or synthetic color additives.

What is Non-GMO?

Non-GMO in animal products signifies that:

  • Animals were raised without being fed genetically modified organisms (GMOs). This ensures their diet consists solely of non-GMO grains, forages, and other feed.
  • For multi-ingredient products, all ingredients sourced are not genetically engineered. This applies to any components within the final product, including additives, processing aids, and any other substances used during production.
  • This claim is only made when the product has undergone independent third-party verification and certification. This ensures the integrity of the "Non-GMO" claim and provides consumers with assurance that the product meets the defined standards.

Important Note: This definition aligns with the Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) guidelines for labeling claims related to the absence of bioengineered or genetically modified ingredients in meat, poultry, and egg products. Refer to the FSIS Labeling Guideline on Statements That Bioengineered or Genetically-Modified Ingredients or Animal Feed Were Not Used in Meat, Poultry, or Egg Products 1 for detailed information and specific requirements.
